Someone happened to mention to me today that they thought rock artist Marilyn Manson was the same person who played Kevin Arnold's (Fred Savage) best friend Paul (Josh Saviano) on the popular 80's television program, "The Wonder Years." As someone who once believed this same myth, I can attest to the fact that it is not true. Manson, a native of Canton, Ohio, was born Brian Hugh Warner. Saviano, ended up taking a much more traditional career path than Manson and went on to attend Yale University and the Cardozo School of Law in New York to become an attorney. While I can say that I do not care for Manson's music, I admire him for expressing himself in such an interesting way through his music and his appearance.

I had never admired Manson for anything until I saw him express himself in Bowling for Columbine. I was impressed.
By the way, before I hear anything about Bowling for Columbine, I thought it was much more of an indictment against the media and the culture of fear that the media perpetrates than anything else. Or at least, that's the message I got from the film. I'm just saying.
Above all else, Manson is a gifted social critic and philosopher!
