Adopt a US Serviceperson Care Packages

Many of you know of my passion to support the men and women who serve in our armed forces. I received an e-mail message today from the Union for Reform Judaism that provided important information on how we can support Jewish soldiers during the forthcoming High Holy Days. (Please note that I am happy to post any similar information for the benefit of any soldier, regardless of their faith).
As the high holy days approach, many congregations are look for meaningful hands-on service projects. Adopt-a-US-Serviceperson offers supportive Americans the opportunity to express our gratitude and encouragement to our deployed troops. You can send care packages, write letters of encouragement and send warm wishes to US military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan. "The Union for Reform Judaism resolves to commend our service women and men (and their families) who have answered duty's call and served our nation honorably... and who have earned our respect and gratitude and that of the American people..." - taken from the 2005 Resolution on the War in Iraq.Visit our website, http://urj.org/Articles/index.cfm?id=18025, to find out how you can get involved in this important project.
